    Veronica Hastings

    Veronica Hastings is a sommelier, entrepreneur, and a past president of LesDames d'Escoffier Chicago. Wine is more than a business for Veronica, it has been her passion for over 30 years. Her journey began in Chicago where she worked as a sommelier at a number of notable fine dining restaurants. She co-founded H2Vino, an importer and distributor specializing in wines that speak to unique regions of the world and are not produced in large supply. Today, her focus is on wine education. 

    Jill Giacomini Basch

    Jill Giacomini Basch is Co-CEO/CMO at Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company, located just north of San Francisco.     We'll take the first 5 minutes to get comfortable and introduce you to Julie, Veronica, and Jill. Then, we'll dive into Jill and Veronica's wine and cheese selection process and how they went from 100 wines to the final 3 selected for this tasting.

    Sparkling Tasting + Cheese Pairing

    Enough talking, let's start tasting! We'll start with the expertly curated white wine, Cantina di Solopaca Maria Cristina Falanghina Vino, talking aromas, palettes, and more with Veronica as Jill walks us through all of the essential tips and tricks for creating a cheeseboard.

    Onto the rosé wine. Veronica will start us with the 2019 Domaine Saint André's Rosé from France as Jill walks us through the perfect cheese pairing.

    What is the deadline to order or to register?

    You must order by 9.20.21 to ensure you receive your wine in time for the tasting. If you're not tasting along, you can register up until an hour before the tasting.

    You can make a donation or purchase cheese! For any donation $25 or over, you will automatically be registered for the virtual tasting. You can donate here.

    Do I need a Zoom account to participate?

    Absolutely not! You can join from any device with an internet connection to participate in the virtual tasting!

    What if I can’t make the event time?

    Don’t worry, following the event we will be sending out an e-mail to everybody who was registered for the event with a link to view a recording of the live tasting via Youtube so that you can taste along with the sommeliers at your convenience.

    Who is this event intended for?

    Everyone! Whether you're an avid wine lover, simply new to wine, or just looking for a fun virtual event, this is a great opportunity to connect virtually with thousands of people. However, you need to be 21+ for tasting!

    What happens after I purchase the wine?

    After you purchase your 3, 6, or 12 pack you'll receive:
    • An order confirmation
    • A Virtual Tasting event confirmation within 24 hours with details of the event (including your link providing access to the event that begins at 7:00 pm CT on September 23rd)
    • Your wine within 1-3 business days
    • An event reminder 2 days before the event
